4. Decide whether you'd like to have a ceremony
Some choose to not have a service at all, many select a simple chapel option. If you are of faith, you may choose to hold a service in your preferred church. Ultimately you can choose the kind of ceremony you want, where and who to lead it.
Modern funerals don't necessarily have to follow a set structure. You can simply welcome people and then sit around telling stories. Our funeral directors can act as celebrant or you might like to appoint a civil celebrant to help you put together the ceremony. They will then work with you to help tell a story. They are always there to provide as much support as you require and you are always free to speak during the service.
There's a wide variety of celebrants with different styles and ways of doing things. We will discuss the many available with you and help guide you in your choice of celebrant.
5. Especially during this time of Covid 19, the option of webcast or recording a funeral can be important.
With border restrictions and travel being difficult, you might wish to consider having the funeral recorded or webcast.
Centennial Park and Enfield Memorial Park provide a fixed camera option for funerals in their chapels. While basic, if does allow those who cannot attend the ability to view and hear the service.
Please let us know during the funeral arrangement if you would like this option so that the link to the webcast can be provided.
The idea of professional photography during a funeral is not that unusual. Some families have the service photographed for family overseas or as a more tangible record of the day.
By booking a professional live stream company, using a portable camera, you can choose to have a service livestreamed and even request edited copies of the service.
This can be watched from anywhere in the world. Different to the standard webcasting available as close up recording and broadcasting can be done and with better audio quality.
